Olin Burnham Chamberlain was born in Charleston, South Carolina on June 25, 1892 to Norman A. and Julia Davis Chamberlain. He graduated from the Charleston High School in 1910 and from the College of Charleston in 1914. The following fall he enrolled in the Medical College of South Carolina from which he graduated in 1918 as the first honor graduate.
